We raised £1250 from Bangers4BEN!

Earlier this year, we were approached by GForces, our web management company, who told us about BEN and asked us if we'd like to donate a couple of cars, costing less than £500 pounds each, so they could take part in the Bangers4BEN 2011 event.

We agreed with GForces proposal and provided them with a Used Volvo V70 and a Used BMW 5 Series to embark on a 1,700 mile road trip to the home of Ferrari in Maranello in Italy (and a short detour to the home of Lamborghini too).

It is an amazing event and lots of money was raised for charity. Considering the whole trip covered 1,700 miles we had to make sure our cars were up to the challenge and we are proud to say that the used BMW and Volvo we picked didn't let us down one bit.

BEN is the UK's only charity for those who work, or have worked, in the automotive and related industries, as well as their dependants.

All money raised goes towards the cost of specialist disabled equipment for children or partners, residential centres around the country, offering nursing service, sheltered accommodation or general help where ever needed.

Update

On November 2^nd at Aston Barclay's Chelmsford site our Used Volvo V70 sold for £650 and the Used BMW 528 sold for £600 raising a total of £1250. Tallied up with all of the other participants' cars, Bangers4BEN has so far raised £15,324.96 along with buyers' fees of £1,624.96 to be added and individual teams sponsorship money.
