We've been nominated for a WOW! Award

We are excited to announce that we have been nominated for a WOW! Award by our customers. The WOW! Awards were first started in 1999, with their aim to recognise high levels of customer service. They are the UK’s Only National Award for customer service, based solely on customer nominations.

“I hate buying cars, and hate being sold to, so when looking to buy a 2nd hand car tried to do as much research online as I could before the dreaded showroom meetings.. I have moved from London to a small village in Sussex and after the weather last winter decided that I needed to get a 4X4 since our road doesnt get gritted. Having looked at dozens of adverts and called a few garages, I saw a nice looking Rav4 on the McCarthy Cars site and was pleased to see I could speak (albeit online) to one of their team at 10 in the evening amazingly! They gave me all the details of that car and arranged a time for me to go into the Croydon garage and have a look in person.

This online chat was really handy for me since I hate having to make personal calls at work and I dont get home from my commute until 9pm most days. I went in on the Saturday afternoon and met with James who was the manager of the garage and before showing me the car I had enquired about, he spent about 20 minutes talking through what I needed, why I needed it and what my expectations were. This was great as it meant that I could give him everything I wanted before being sold the earth.

I had gone in there, set on the Rav4 and whilst James showed me that one, he took the time to explain why it might not suit my needs in terms of fuel consumption and space (for a dog box in the back). Rather than pushing me to go for this car which I liked, he showed me 3 other 4X4s, with different specs and 2 of which had lower prices than the Rav4. This was so refreshing as I clearly wasnt getting pushed to spend the most money, and after another 30 minutes of discussion, I decided on a Suzuki Grand Vitara which was £1500 less than the Rav4 and sooo much better for what I needed. I took a test drive and was talked through the vehicles history with all the documentation etc and bought the car there and then.

Three weeks later I have no complaints at all and nothing but praise for the guys at McCarthy Cars. They were able to handle my enquiries at all hours of the night, didnt try and push an expensive model onto me and really took the time to understand my needs. In the world of used cars, this has the WOW factor for me!”
